Last Monday week one we started our science project. We are learning about the changes of states and matter. For my science inquiry Tom, Ryley and I are making ginger beer. We have some of the things that we need to make the ginger beer but still not there yet. In a couple of weeks I think we can make the ginger beer. The picture above is the start of my info graphic.

Matariki-Mu Torere
Last Thursday for Matariki we had shared lunch and then did activities to support Matariki. Tom and I did Nogo's activity of Mu Torere which is a Maori chess game where you try and block your opponent from moving. The names I learnt from the game were putahi(centre), kawai(outside) perepere(counters).
It is a very easy game to learn but you need to think ahead 2-3 moves.
I am finding that Matariki is becoming popular each year and I hope that there is a National holiday because of it.

Maths-Geometry-Compass Work
In math I have have been doing compass work. I learnt how to draw circles using a compass, the last time I did it was in Year 6.
Yesterday I did art with a compass it was fun but challenging. I had several attempts at first but then I got the hang of it. I have attached pics of my work and attempts.
